Toiletries for BCT?

I have never done anything but manually shaved...and believe me, you can get quick at it. ;) I can't imagine holding a buzzing machine up to my face...

You should try it. I got a good electric shaver and haven't manualy shaved since.

my guy tried the battery/electric kind when I convinced him he would have little time at BCT. He says it pulls on the few stray hairs that show up on his face. He prefers the manual blade with the lotion comfort strip. Once he gets the lotion strip wet, it provides just enough "shaving cream" to get a smooth finish.

I've only ever done electric. Pulling could be due to the razor but it can also feel that way because of the length of the hairs. I know if I don't shave for a few days I can get some longer hairs.

However, like I said all the cadets I've talked to either use electric or told me to bring electric due to the limited time. One in particular said he ended up dry shaving most of the time because he had to move quickly.

Anyway, we'll all find out very soon.

For me, manual gets a closer shave. If the electric doesn't get up to par, then I'll have to use manual. So, bring both if you can.

That is my situation. My electric does not always get the longer hairs, so I am concerned about that.

Anyone randomly accessing this thread would probably think we're all insane!

Raimius: If your razor has a hair trimmer then use that to shorten the longer hairs and then use the razor to cut off the now shortened hairs.

AFDAD2010, leave it to me to ask the most obvious questions that no one else dare ask. I'm not a 17-18 yr old any more. Some may think my posts are coming out of left field. That's ok, I have an excuse...........it is either because I'm having a hard time letting my first born leave home OR because I forgot to take my AADHD medicine. It's all good, I can laugh at myself and still smile! :)

Usafa21astr, thanks for reminding me! I had a better electric packed up.

Yeah, this would sound pretty insane to an outsider, lol.

No Problem Momofboyz, I perfectly understand. These threads are great for all of us -- I was just thinking about how they would read to someone who randomly found them! ;)
