Too early to take SAT?

I'm a junior and I'm thinking about taking the SAT in November. Is it too early? Is it at all bad to take the SAT this early or should I just wait for Spring so I can get a higher score? I heard that you HAVE to send all SAT scores to the universities, so wouldn't it be better to hold off(lil bit smarter lol)?

Only certain colleges require you to send all scores. Why not take it now? You can gauge where you’re at so you can study for the spring and senior year fall tests for the real deal. And who knows, you might end up scoring really high this time! Colleges will see the dates you took each test, and will realize that you had just started your junior year if you for some reason do bomb it.

I took mine at that point. If you study enough, go for it.

Edit: SAT does not measure intelligence, so waiting a few months won’t make a difference. The SAT measures how much you study. In fact, my friend took the sat for ****s and giggles and got a 2200 freshman year.

Not too early. Two of my friends got 2400s in the fall of sophomore year, and I got a 2360 in the spring of sophomore year. Take it if and only if you are prepared, however.

(The earliest time you should take the SAT is October of your sophomore year, since that’s the earliest SAT that will work for National Merit.)

Yup, NYU doesn’t require SAT Scores. I’d wait till may, but that’s because I’m on a prep course and I have classes at night and a tutor soph- junior years.
