So it looks like I applied for Callaway too late. I called and they say the wait list has about 100 people on it. So I'm wondering if it's too late to apply for on campus housing and get a good dorm (in other words not Jester). Some sites say that if you apply after January you'd have to be very lucky to get any of your top preferences. I've applied to honors but I'm not sure if I'll get in yet or even be given honors housing. I'm very iffy on whether to apply for on campus because I won't know where I'm actually living until I can't get my deposit back.

So right now it's either Nueces house and try to figure out how my meals will work, or take my chances with on campus housing.

I’m in the same spot as you are… did they give you any prediction as to your chances of getting off the wait list at Callaway? I know kids who reserved a spot who didn’t get in to UT/aren’t going/didn’t even end up applying to the school and I’m assuming there’ll be a few cases like that.

UT Housing is still accepting apps for on campus housing. As far as your preferences go and where you’ll end up living, it all depends on the preferences of the people who applied earlier than you. UT Housing assigns your room based on your app date - so they do recommend you apply earlier rather than later if you have very specific ideas of where you’d like to live.
