I recently received several emails offerring priority scholarship consideration from Pitt. Is this just propaganda, or is it worth it to apply this late? My thought process was that applying by this point would leave most of the class filled and most of the scholarship money gone. I hadn’t really considered Pitt, but after receiving the emails and looking into the school, I would like to apply!
It is not too late to apply! Outstanding candidates may still be considered for scholarships.

@hailtopitt1787 our youngest son is a junior who decided to apply this year. His high school has a few top students do this every year. They can submit their freshman transcripts and get a HS diploma. He applied before 2/1. But he had an awful time with the application process at Pitt and even after calling twice he was given incorrect info. Do you get few applicants that want to forego their senior hs year? For him it is definitely the right move (in state, UW GPA 3.9 ACT 34…and computer savant); he is very mature and wants to tackle the next step. How does Pitt view an applicant applying in their junior year?
@CDK, I am very sorry to hear that your son had trouble with our application process! I have not addressed this kind of situation before (and I am not on the admissions committee myself), so I don’t want to give you any incorrect information. I promise you that I will investigate your questions as soon as I am in the office on Monday and respond here.

@hailtopitt1787 thanks!
@CDK, I spoke with one of our Admissions Counselors and they said that we have a couple specific requirements for early applicants:
-We would like to see their SAT/ACT results and grades through the middle of junior year.
-We would like a letter from the high school indicating what classes are still needed for graduation and verifying that the school will award a diploma with the rest of the class when they graduate (provided the student completes the specified graduation requirements).
Let me know if you have further questions and I will be happy to assist you.

@CDK, Just an update: A colleague spoke to the Dean of Arts and Sciences here at Pitt and it turns out that I was mistaken. We do not offer early admissions any longer (we used to in the past, but the policy has changed). Sincere apologies for the confusion. If you have further questions, you can feel free to contact our office.

Would he be able to participate in the college in high school programs at Pitt?
