I've posted this in the Transfer Students Forum..just thought I could also get some help from parents...Thanks!

So...I'm new to the whole transfer process so please bear with me...

I graduated from one of the best public high schools (Los Angeles County) in 2005. The following fall I attended at top 20 private university (out of state). After the fall semester, I withdrew from the this university. So on my transcript from the university, I have transfer credit from AP exams and previous coursework from Fall 2005. There is nothing on there for Spring 2006.

Now, I have two options to continue my education 1. I have already been accepted to CSULA (4 yr public). I can go there and graduate in 3 years (of course with summers to make up for my lost semester) 2. I could attend a California community college fufilling all the basic UC transfer requirements (IGETC: English, social sciences, and some science classes, already took Diff Eq) and the requirements for my major, and then transfer to a UC (preferably UCLA) or USC.

My problem is that everything is so uncertain and ambiguous. Every UC is different. On my transcript from the previously attended 4 yr uni, it says I already have 45 semester hours. That presents a problem because I only need 60 (and will probably go over if I take classes at CC), but I haven't taken any English classes (no AP English credit) and am still lacking some social science and science classes for my major. Of the 45, more than half are from AP credit. Is the AP Credit transferable? It's probably different for each UC. So I'm so confused as to how to proceed right now.

Part of me just wants to go to CSULA and just finish off there, but what I want to achieve in life probably won't be do-able if I go there. Any advice...thanks! Feel free to PM me.
