Which one is better if you had the choice? and Why?

The top bunks advantages are better light, you may not hit your head, and your roommates’ friends don’t randomly plop themselves on your bed. On the other hand, climbing up to your bed gets old, and it is especially not fun to sleep so high up when you are sick.

Debunk.

If not debunk, go for top.

I knew a girl two doors down. She and her roommate bunked beds, and her roommate had the top. One night, her roommate drank too much and barfed up in her sleep, and some of the barf ended on the bottom bunk.

Therefore, top.

Bottom. I am really bad at climbing ladders, especially when I’m tired.

If you’re the sleep walking type or are very drowsy and unaware of your surroundings in the morning bottom might be better.

I used to have a bunk bed in my room and the top always felt way too close to the ceiling for my liking.

i hate being on the top. a lot of work for no reason.

^ let’s avoid the ‘that’s what she said’ jokes, please.

We’re better than that.

Bottom bunk is definitely the way to go. As others have said, climbing up/down all the time gets really old.

that’s what she said

The top is a lot more exciting, though.

Neither. I hope I don’t get stuck in a bunk bed, they remind me of being ten.

how about not bunking? who says you have to be on top or on the bottom?

I have a bunk bed at home - i have used it for the past 18 years (too lazy to debunk). Throughout those years I have alternated between top and bottom and it really makes no difference. They both have their annoying sides. The one bad thing about the top bunk is especially that it becomes a hassle to get up and down. Many times you have that stupid siderail bothering you… It is great for lighting though plus you can fool around on the top bunk. I have personally enjoyed jumping down in the morning.

The bottom can get annoying too because of the lighting and it also depends of how much the top bunk person moves around.

In general - sharing a bed = not fun. Pick either, cause its really the same

Loft them… saves space and you won’t get dripped on by a drunk roomate who just ****ed themself in the top bunk.

getting into a bunkbed when your roommate is sleeping isn’t fun

Climbing on top every single night can get pretty exhausting. If you’re on the bottom you just plop down and pass out if you want to…

I haven’t seen bunk beds in college that have side things or ladders. At my school, at least, you basically just put one bed on top of the other.

That’s what she said!
:(

Haha, I was just wondering about that scenario.

at my school, we have the option to loft our bunk. my roommate and i were discussing it and she goes “do i want more space? yes. do i want to climb up to go to bed while i’m drunk? no.”
that’s how i knew she was my soul mate.
