TRANSCRIPT CLARIFICATION QUESTION

Hello! This may be a stupid question but can somebody clarify whether the school report is the same thing as a transcript? Also if I transferred schools, do I need to provide a transcript from the school I attended before?
Thanks so much!!

From my understanding, the school report consists of your transcript plus an additional form.
If your school doesn’t include classes from other schools on its transcript (mine does, but I don’t know if that’s normal), then I’m pretty sure they do need a transcript from both schools.

Thank you so much!!

No, the transcript is different from the school report. A school report is all the info about your high school: demographics, %going to college, rank or no rank, average ACT score, how many APs offered, size of graduating class, size of student body, average AP scores, etc. It gives the adcoms the ability to put your application in better context with all the other applications from all other high schools around the country.

Your transcript is a separate thing and usually you need to request it from your high school’s registrar office. At our high school it costs $5.00 per transcript request. Once you pay the fee, then school will submit electronically to the colleges you are applying to.
