How hard it is to transfer to Lafayette? What r the statistics like(act average score, GPA, etc)? I'm an international student from Brazil (I've heard there is no brazilian undergraduate student at lafayette currently) who needs full ride and they are need-aware for intl's!

anyone???

You need to contact the admissions office for info. Lafayette accepts very few transfers, so they don’t post the statistics for transfer admissions (SATs, etc). Also, as you mention they are need-aware for internationals. I wouldn’t think the odds for an international transfer who needs a full-ride would be very good, but only admissions could tell you for sure. I could be wrong.

I’ve sent them an e-mail asking about my odds, but they haven’t aswered me yet. I’m also looking at Dickinson, and so far I’ve found they’re very similar, altough it seems that Dickinson is more generous when it comes to financial aid (both r need-aware). I’ve read some comments on College ******* and a lot of students say that the social life at Lafayette sucks, especially for intl’s. They say that whites hang w/ whites, blacks w/ blacks, intl’s w/ intl’s, and that intl’s is somewhat excluded and that in general, Lafayette is a preppy school. Is this correct? Some Dickinson students say that it’s easier for intl’s to fit into, altough the city is more isolated and rural, and a little bit more conservative( I’m very liberal). Lafayette’s location is better than Dickinson’s and it tends to be more liberal, but is still a little conservative (some students said that religious groups and gay acceptance are other areas that need diversification on campus). Dartmouth is my other option. It’s need-blind for intl’s, but their transfer acceptance rate is around 4%! Considering that the whole application process is much more complicated and expensive for intl’s (besides my other 3 options, because of financial circunstances, I can only pick one out of those 3 colleges) and my situation, which college do you think I should apply to? I mean, the college which I have more chances to be admitted to and be happy on campus. (remember I’m very liberal and want to hang out w/ different people). Thanks for ur time and patience!
