MSU said because I was a freshman transfer student they wanted to see my grades for this semester too, to see that my grades were consistent. My question is...if MSU receives my transcript by this friday..when will they make a decision? I'm aware that there might not be any transfer spots left, I just figured it was worth a shot to ask.

msufanx23,
I’m in the same spot as you. Why wouldn’t there be spots? Didn’t a lot of transfers get that letter (which would indicate that plenty of sports are open?? I’m hoping your post is not an accurate reflection of the status of msu transfer admissions…

There’s really no way to answer that. Freshmen are their priority and they’ll get the transfers figured out when they see what their freshmen class looks like. You just gotta wait it out. Good luck :)

studmuffin: glad to see you’re in the same boat. sorry, for the confusion. I’m not making assumptions, just making estimates. I saw in the newspaper that MSU has received the most applicants that they’ve ever had. Therefore, I figured that they gave most of their spots away to freshmen since they matter more than transfer students.
romanigypsyeyes: thanks!

I mean, would MSU reject a transfer student pm the sole basis of availability? I know that you might need a higher GPA when there is less space available, but I doubt that MSU would accept an application for a semester that was open to applicants and decline it SOLELY based on availability (without considering the transcript/gpa, etc.) And definitely, the freshman fare going to be sorted out before the transfers.

I’m not sure what you mean, stud. MSU stopped accepting transfers last Spring (maybe even last fall) due to lack of space. They weren’t even looking at apps. So yes, I assume they could reject based solely on space but I really don’t know. That’s something you’d have to ask them.

I agree with you both; however, I hope MSU still looks at transfer apps. Although I’m 70% sure I’m staying at my current college. I doubt if i’ll be able to get the required 3.5 for MSU’s accounting program and I’d hate to transfer and then not be able to get into the program :/

Romani,
What I meant was this. From my understanding, when MSU shut down applications, that just meant that all FUTURE applications were halted, so at that point nobody could apply for that semester. However, the people that had already applied, would be reviewed and would still get a fair shake. At least this is what I hope/have been told.
