Transfer Appeals Dilemna

So after all that they denied me because apparently one of my AP credit classes wasn't transferable therefore I did not have the 30 hours. I called the office and they told me to appeal if I wanted to. The reason they told me that was because I have 2-3 emails that I sent to UT Admissions counselors telling them what I would be gaining credit for and if it would be transferable. All times they said yes and I would have no problem. I also sent those emails back in April so if they would have given me the correct information I could've planned accordingly.

What do you think my chances are of a successful appeal seeing as this is in no shape or form my fault but in fact it was the admissions counselors fault for giving me incorrect information multiple times that lead to this problem.

I don’t understand what you are trying to tell. I wonder if anyone else does. :)

But if it helps here is website where you can compare courses from UT and your current college to see what is transferable and what is not. If the course is officially not transferable the appeal will most likely not help.

[TCCNS - Common Course Matrix](http://www.tccns.org/matrix.aspx)

Ok let me try to clear this up.

I was denied so I called the admissions office to see why. They told me that I did not have my 30 hours and in fact I had 27 because apparently one of the classes I was gaining credit for from my AP exams was not transferable.

I was told I could appeal because I told the admissions person I was given the wrong information by one their admissions counselors regarding transferable courses etc… in emails I sent to their admissions counselors

Essentially those emails consisted of me telling the admissions counselors what University I was transferring from and what classes I would be claiming AP Credit from and if those credits would be transferable. I was told yes. I asked them in another email if they were sure because I quote “I do not want there to be an issue when I’m trying to transfer”. I was reassured by the counselor that there would be no such issue. Those emails were sent all the way in April of 2012 meaning if they gave me the correct information all the way back then, I could have planned accordingly which is what I was trying to do in the first place.

I have copies of all of these emails and I have included them in the appeals statement/documents

I did my best to understand what courses would transfer and which ones would not, however, I wanted to make sure with the counselors as well. So here I am, being denied because I was given incorrect information my an admissions counselor. I do not know the chances of my appeal and that is why I am asking for opinions.

I don’t think that anybody here can help you. It sounds like you have a good case, but it will be up to UT to decide - there’s no way we can evaluate your chances. Good luck! Let us know how things turn out.

So after a week or two of waiting my appeal was approved and I was accepted! So glad to finally be a longhorn!

Congratulation!
