Transfer as L&S, then declare Econ major

Hello..

I'm majoring in Economics and planning to transfer to UC Berkeley from CC.

I've seen many people who failed to be accepted this year

even though they have 4.0 GPA.

Moreover, many people are accepted for next spring semester.

Lots of my friends recommend to transfer as other l&s major

because I could declare econ major as long as I appy for l&s major.

Is it true???

To me, it soulds like unfair..

Econ major is very competitive, and it is very hard to be accepted..

Is there any adventage to apply as econ major ???

are there actually many people who transfer to other l&s majors and declare econ major??

I really don't know what to do..T.T

Please give me some advice..

Thanks!

Here is what the Economics department says:

[Prospective Majors](Incoming Transfer Students | Department of Economics)

I don’t feel like its that competitive…but that might just be for continuing students who are already enrolled @ Berkeley.

^ nice one, HA.
