I thought I start a Transfer thread for people transfer for the Autumn 2013 to have transfer students get some input and compare stats with one another. Also this could help answer question for transfer students in this process from Financial aid/scholarship to housing.Ill start off:

I am am an oos transfer from a community college having a 3.6 GPA with 28 credits completed applying for the pre-business program in Fisher.I am taking 21 credits this semester and another 7 in the summer at my current institution before I transfer. I applied in the middle of December and hope to here back from admission with a decision really soon.

I’m an out of state as well, transferring with a 3.8 GPA and 40 credits. I applied in early october and was admitted into the School of Ecology in December.

Hey everyone,
I applied last week and I hope they would have all my necessary stuff by next week, any idea when i’ll find out a decision? I’m a current college freshman, transferring from Virginia Tech with a 3.3 GPA from just the Fall 2012 semester under my belt. Had a 4.2 weighted GPA in high school and 1170/1800 SAT. Applying to the Sports Industry major at Ohio State.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, good luck everyone applying! Go Buckeyes!

I say you have a good chance of getting in. They should let you know with a decision within sometime in February after they have finished all the incoming freshman apps. I am also applying from Virginia as well.

Hey guys I was just curious what all you need to turn in with the transfer app? I sent my college transcript and ACT score in, do I need to send in a high school transcript too? I talked to an admissions lady who said I didn’t have to but i wanted to check if you guys did? I have a 3.75 with 15 credit hrs. Didn’t do so hot in high school, graduated with a 2.7 and got a 23 on the ACT so thats why I am curious?

@wannabebuckeye: cause you only have 15 credits completed and not the full 30, u need to submit a highschool transcript as well. They will evaluate u on everything until u get the 30 credits. I say u should wait until you hit the 30 credit hours at the end of the semester so they only look at ur college work.

@Carolina 10: thanks I really want to go to ohio state if I get in. But applied to tech as my back up and got in already.

@transfer136 my problem is my semester ends after the application deadline, so i can’t wait. I have already applied so now we just have to wait and see, if anything i will just spend a year at a regional. THanks for the help!

@ Wannabebuckeye: there’s a loop hole to that. If u submit all you stuff a week before the deadline. Ur application will be in evaluation for about 4-5 weeks. Ur semester will ended by then and u will be able to send ur 30 credit hours before they make a decision.

@transfer136 being honest, do you think i have any chance if getting in with the stats i posted? I also have volunteer work I do weekly that i wrote about, and im in an honor society. If those things help me at all?

They should I am know they will evaluate u on everything since u don’t have the 30 semester hours yet. If you put all ur EC’s that could help. Since u are doing well in college GPA wise and they have a high acceptance for autumn semester. I’d say u have a good chance of getting in depending on what program you apply for could be a problem. Just send them a mid-semester report if your app is still being evaluated and keep in touch with a counselor and build a good relationship. By ask them what’s going on cause they will make the decision at the end of the day.

I called the Admission Office today and told them I am really Lewd about how I have all the criteria to be admitted and had still been in the evaluation State for almost more than 2 month. They were being a bit nervous and got an evaluation to see what the hold up was. Then they called me back to tell me I had been Admitted and it will show up in the system in a few days and I will receive my acceptance letter in the mail in a few days as well. Finally I had been admitted to my #1 school. Lets go Buckeye! And good luck to everyone else who are still waiting. Hope your wait isn’t as long as mine or you will really have a serious problem.

@transfer136 My VT GPA was 2.9 but I had taken a few summer classes else where. So overall I was 2.7. From what I understand they pretty much just let you in as a transfer. Article about it below. I will try to answer any questions you have about transferring.

How long does it take for it to show transcript completed on oracle or whatever? It says can take up to 10 days but I called admissions 9 days ago and they said they received my transcript already but it still says incomplete online? Maybe there was another person with my name or something idk, i’ll probably call again to make sure they got it.

I also have over 60 credits so I dont need the hs transcripts cuz those are still showing up as incomplete right?

I want a decision already! I have a 2.7 and everytime I ask them if I have a good chance of getting in they say a 2.5 is competitive so I think I should be good hopefully
