I am trying to transfer to the University of Austin. I want to know what my chances are of getting into the Cockrell School of Engineering or McCombs School of Business. I am a freshman at the University of Houston.

GPA: 3.7/4.0
Courses Completed: Calc I, History 1, English 1, Physics 1301, and Psychology.
Currently Enrolled: Calc II, History 2, POLS 2, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Art History.

I don't really have much in extracurricular activities.

What grade did you get for each course? What do you expect you’ll get for each course you’re currently enrolled in? The average GPA for admittance for McCombs is 3.8/3.9 so in order to have a good chance, you need to aim for a 4.0 this semester. I’ve heard that the other stuff doesn’t matter that much - that they are only really considered in tiebreakers.
I think Cockrell requires more than what you have completed to be competitive (though I’m not sure). Both are really competitive, so I think you should also consider a less competitive department.
