Transfer Chances at UVA, UIUC, Others

<p>I'm currently a Soph. Psych. Major at Virginia Tech, and am trying to transfer to a school with a behavioral neuroscience/biopsychology program. Less importantly, I also would prefer a more challenging environment, and one with students and faculty who are enthusiastic and excited about what they do. I believe I'd actually get better grades and be much more motivatated in such a place. Also want to get involved in research.</p>

UVA, UIUC, UMich (Major Reach, I know), UNC (Same), UFlorida, UTexas, UMinn, Indiana.</p>

<p>***College GPA: 3.61 Overall, 4.00 In-Major (Psych), 47 credits, +6 credits for AP classes, so 53 total hours

<p>Should I apply to more reach schools? I'm ok with going to VT if I don't get into anywhere I'd rather go, or if the cost/benefit is too low in comparison. </p>

<p>What are my chances??? Help me out.</p>

<p>I thought UVA, UMich, & UNC would be, and the others matches. Thanks, def. makes me feel better about this. </p>

<p>isn't UT fairly hard to get into as an out-of-state student? i don't actually know what uiuc is... but the others should be matches.</p>

<p>the upward grade trend works in your favor. you should be fine.</p>

<p>I think you should definitely be in at UVA- they have stated that the average transfer GPA is about a 3.5- your SATs are also great, and your 4.0 in your major will definitely look good. I'm not sure about the other schools and their admissions criteria though.</p>
