Transfer Chances Fall 2014 - Georgetown, NYU, UNC, UM, GWU, etc

Hi, I am applying as a Junior transfer for Fall 2014.
The schools I am applying to are UNC, UM-Ann Arbor, Georgetown, NYU, GWU, BU, UVA and Columbia. Could you tell me what my chances are for each school? My top choices are Georgetown, NYU and GWU. I know that Columbia and Georgetown are reaches. However, I would really like to get into UNC as well.

Additional Info:
Parent is a NYU alum.
Parent teaches at UNC.

When I applied to schools in HS, I was:
Waitlisted at NYU and BU. I was on the Guanteed Transfer Program at BU but decided not to go. (Does this help me at all with my chances as a transfer? I know they have it on file.)

Thanks.

I don’t have much experience with any college but I’d say you would be a low match/math for NYU, UNC, Georgetown and UMichigan. The the rest Id say your a low match, especially UVA and Columbia.

You think that I have a better chance of getting into UVA than Georgetown? I think you do have little experience in giving advice on college admission. UVA’s transfer acceptance rate is ~35-40%.

No need to be rude, captainsage.

You misinterpret the tone. Not rude, just honest. Iiobdog did not state why he thought that UVA was going to be harder to get into than Georgetown. From the facts, it doesn’t look that way at all.

UVA takes a lot of transfers from community colleges. They are obligated to take any VA community college student who graduates with a certain GPA. Not so with Georgetown.

Thanks for the info bookmouse!

If you do know then why are you asking? LOL

@captainsage If you write essays in the same voice you talk to people, then you might as well tell these adcoms you burn books and exterminate kittens in your spare time. If you’re asking for help from people, then be nice to them.
