EDIT: Ack, I'm sorry I posted this in the wrong forum. Is there a mod who could move it before I get stuff thrown at me? lol It's late and I'm dumb, sorry!

Hi! I'm currently a college freshman attending a state university as an English major but I would like to transfer to Barnard or NYU, but I'm afraid my high school record has ruined my chances. My HS grades were mediocre for these schools due to an anxiety issues in 10th and 11th grade.

My current GPA for the first semester is a 3.6 (Dean's List), but I'm aiming for a 3.8 by the end of this semester. I'm currently involved in Choir at my school, as well as the newspaper and hope to submit some pieces to the literary magazine.

I recently won first place in a writing contest sponsored by HarperCollins publishing and my piece was highlighted by Meg Cabot (NY Times Best Selling Author).

I have about 20+ hours a week in Piano and I've been playing for about 12 years now. I've been taking private voice lessons for about 4 years. I was also involved in musical, band, honors band, jazz band, the top choirs at my high school, district choir, and the newspaper. I also play organ, piano, duets, and sing for my Church.

I have experience travelling abroad (Italy and France).

So please, please, let me know what you think - or if you have any advice on transferring in general it would be greatly appreciated!
