I applied to UVA and cornell my senior year in high school, but got rejected. I finished with a cumulative GPA of 3.8 in high school increasing significantly every year, also got a 4.4 my senior year first semester. I have good ecs and work experience and 29 ACT/ 1980 SAT. I am planning on going to Wake Forest for a year and then trying to transfer for sophomore year fall admission, I am looking to major in business, what gpa would I need to transfer to either UVA cas, eventually mcintire or cornell aem? Because of Wake is known for tough grading would anything above a 3.5 be above average chances?
Thanks

can anyone help

3.7+ College GPA, 2000+ SAT and you’d have a decent chance according to stats of other accepted applicants.

check out past years threads. they’re really helpful and i used them to narrow down my choices.

the thing is SATs are pretty good not great at 1980 also 29 ACT. I did really well senior year getting a 4.4 first semester with a pretty difficult courseload. Il be applying for sophomore year transfer so will colleges primarily look at senior year grades and college first semester?

^ exactly that, except they will look at all of HS. the longer you are out of HS and at a new school, the better.

you don’t have to send SAT scores to CALS at cornell, so i think you’re alright. agree with aim for at least a 3.7. good luck!

thats good news. I have pretty good Ecs that show interest in business, I did cornell summer college took a bus. course at cornell. If i get 3.7 above should I be competitive for aem? I know aem has lower acceptance do i still have a good shot? ALso do you know about aem’s requirements, do I have to take bio 1 and 2?
thanks

anyone else please chance me

bumppp pleasee help

so many views somebody please offer opinion

i think you got solid advice already. there’s really nothing else to add

I woud like more advice thats why i posted here

bumpppppppp

anybody advice please

helppp I need to know If I shouuld try

Tuna, stop asking people to chance you, especially since a lot more goes into your application than just your gpa and ecs. That being said, no one on CC really knows how the application process of either colleges works.

So, just apply and see for yourself.

btw since you called yourself bigtuna, i would like to warn you in advance that probably won’t be getting into any of the two schools, and you’ll be working at dunder mifflin for ever. ;)

Listen, if you write AMAZING essays/recs/are really involved, you’ll get in with even a 3.5 GPA. if the rest of your app is weak, you better try to get your GPA up to at least a 3.8. SATs don’t matter that much but should at least be above 2000.

The rest of the info is available on other threads and their respective websites!!!
