transfer chances

hey, would someone be willing to look over my stats and tell me what you think?

black female (i dont know if that matters with transfering)

-currently a freshman at one of the more difficult to transfer into schools (columbia, duke, vassar, yale) and wanting to transfer to two of the others and possibly brown.

-high school gpa 3.5 (:-/ but school is consistently ranked in the top ten nationally)

SAT - 1400; SAT II - 780, 760, 710 (but got a 5 on the corresponding AP)

-college gpa 3.85 with difficult classes - deans list

-ECs (high school) - interned with a senator, yearbook editor, preschool volunteer, played a club sport (year round commitment for approx. 20 hrs /week; reached the national team level individually)

ECs (college) - varsity sport, but I dont want to continue at the school i'm transfering to because I want to persue other interests. Its my only ec but its at least 25 hr/week commitment. Would the fact that I also have a work-study job help the lack of ECs?

Good essays and recs

your amibguity doesn't exactly lend itself to ease of interpretation. and the phrase "I dont want to continue at the school i'm transfering to" makes no sense to me. could you clarify? where from, where to, and why, exactly do you want to transfer?

I think she meant that she does not plan on continuing with the varsity sport at the new school...

yeah i understand every word of it, theres no ambiguity here

you have solid chances everywhere

Very good chance provided you have a compelling personal statement essay.

I hope my college GPA would be a 3.8 :) if you have great recommendations and a great essay with that GPA you should get into most of the top 25 rankes schools. Plus you are a URM(under represented minority).

if youre going to apply to yale as a transfer you might as well apply to harvard...try brown too - a real transfer-friendly school. Penn is pretty friendly as well
