Transfer Chances?

I'm hoping to transfer from SUNY Ulster, an in-state CC to Binghamton's Accounting program as a junior for the Fall '10 semester. Currently I'm majoring in Business Administration at my CC, which seems to have the same liberal arts classes and general business courses that the curriculum for accounting students contains at Binghamton for the first couple years, with the exception of a couple that would require validation exams since they're taken in one's junior year at Bing, and are 200-level at my non-accredited CC.

My cumulative GPA is currently 3.66 and I expect that it'll neither increase nor decrease substantially between now and next fall although it may change by a few hundredths on the plus side.

As far as I know, Binghamton doesn't ask for high school or SAT/ACT scores from transfer students. Any clarification on that from anyone in the know would be great in regards to that. If I need them, I'll have to find the records.

I'm an EOP student which I believe is largely because of things going awry in high school. I'm a very proud person, and I would honestly prefer not to apply as an EOP student, but if it seems necessary, I can bite the bullet and apply as an EOP student.

As I mentioned, my coursework consists of your typical array of liberal arts and core freshman/sophomore business classes. I took care of the transfer language requirement last semester. My typical liberal arts grade is either B+ or A-, with my business courses generally being A grades.

My ECs are a bit limited, which is something I'm worried about. They are as follows:

I'm currently the VP for my school's business club. I help run meetings, organize events, etc.

I'm a member of Phi Theta Kappa, which is an international honor society for 2-year colleges.

I serve as one of the student members of the college advisory council.

I really don't have much volunteer work to speak of, which I'm sure will work to my detriment.

I've had a few different part time jobs over the last couple years. I'm also the proprietor of Oasis Tech, which is the name of my small side project of a PC repair business.

I'm pretty new at this so there may be a bit of information missing here and if that's the case I apologize. Either way, what do you folks think of my chances given the information provided?

So you’re thinking about applying to SOM? Even with that stellar GPA of yours, it might still be a reach for you. SOM is the most competitive of the five schools; this year, they didn’t accept any transfers (including intra-university transfers). Keep in mind that you’re also competing with students already in Bing.

I would apply, but don’t feel bad if you don’t get in. If you don’t get in and you really want to do business, I would just stick to your current school.
