Any accepted transfers with ACCOUNTING major?

Please tell me your stats.
I only applied to Binghamton and I got rejected. I just wrote an appeal letter asking for reevaluation.
I will try for the 2010 Spring term so please help me!
Any transfer students to Binghamton as a accounting major, please tell me your specs.

Thank you!

i know my friend from who is from Stuyvesant High School got rejected with 3.88 gpa 48 credits as a Freshmen. His SAT is well above 1900, but since his credits are over 24, doubt they’ll look at it. I guess… it’s that competitive.

I got in a few days ago as an accounting major, although I was originally rejected. I had a 3.5 at cornell my 1st semester and 1430/1600 SAT’s. (not sure if they looked at them)
It does appear that its really competitive though, I’m not really sure what caused their change of heart.

What made you want to transfer from Cornell? Because I applied for transfer also, and got in, although I was set on Binghamton. So I’m kind of torn now, but will probably go to Binghamton

I PM’ed u, bingtransfer10

Hey Chckn440! Did you send an appeal letter or did you suddenly get an acceptance letter? Call? email? I just wrote my appeal letter ready to send it on Monday. I hope this works out well! PLEASE!!!

appeals don’t work, don’t even bother my friend. just go to ur number two like the rest of us transfers that got screwed by the influx of private school kids all of a sudden coming home

I would have believed you to have been correct, mcl116. However, I was recently informed that my dad actually sent a letter of appeal without telling me (I was ready to accept my fate). So I would absolutely encourage capwoo to give it a shot, even if it is undoubtedly a longshot.

Thank you chckn440. I truly appreciate your advices that brought me up to here. A good news is that today I talked to one of my close faculty at school. She is an advisor of Phi Ephilson XXXX Honors Society, a professor + International Student Center Director, and she told me to bring all the documents that I submitted to SOM. She was pretty shocked that I got rejected and she decided to make a phone call to SOM tomorrow. All these little happenings could been happened because of you Chckn440! She even told me that a few years ago, one of very hard working students at my school got rejected from Tufts and she made a call to Tufts. Guess what? The student got in! So MCL116! Do not say too negatively because appeal process exists because it really happens!
Thank you very much CHCKN440 and I hope to see you at SOM taking fun fun accounting courses together!
