I am currently attending the University of Vermont and I want to transfer to either BU or Northeastern University.
Here are my stats:
GPA: 3.3
Studies: Double major in German + Political Science with a minor in French
Recommendations: Decent
SAT: 1790 out of 2400

Is there anyway you could stay one more semester at UV, and then transfer? seems like that GPA should get a little higher…you think you can get it up to at least 3.5, maybe 3.6? then i think u should have a chance…another question…are you applying as a sophomore or junior? cuz if as a sophomore your chances would be a little hurt by the SAT scores, don’t you think? mmm, if as a junior, with a 3.5 u could be pretty solid…even with a 3.3 i’d say you could be waitlisted and MAAAAYBE if u wrote a good essay, accepted…how bout EC’s? well that’s my opinion, to stay one more or two semesters at Vermont, before transferring…

I really took time chancing you, would you please do the same with me? I’d appreciate it.

Northeastern doesn’t require SAT scores for students with more than a certain amount of credits (which I have exceeded). I would be applying for spring semester as a sophomore. I’ve also heard that certain majors are much harder to transfer into due to competition so I wasn’t sure how my majors would be considered.

mmmm…then you have the fall semester to get a 3.7 or more in order for your average gpa to go up right? i’d say you take easy classes …like easy as crapp…and then i’m thinking you do have a chance…it’ll work out just chill like the rest of us…i know i’m equally nervous man, this whole GW thing and Gtown…to be perfectly honest, if you get a 3.5 i say you’re set for northeastern, about boston, i haven’t heard much of their transfer gpa’s and stuff, but i bet they’re a bit higher…so it’d require like a 3.5 and a good essay or hopefully a 3.7 and a normal regular old essay…what do you think?

My thoughts are the same about BU. I think I’m a little closer for northeastern since its on par with UVM academically and their ‘most competitive’ transfer students achieve at least a 3.3 according to the website, for BU it is a 3.5 I’m hoping that they weigh the fact that I’m studying two languages with no prior experience, namely German which is relatively difficult to major in. I’m definitely going to take easier classes this upcoming semester, its still very nerve racking.

really about the 3.3 at Northeastern? THAT’S AMAZING FOR YOU! then yeah getting a 3.5 would definitely set u up there, which is ur dream school? which do u want to get into the most?

Yeah, I’m just pretty paranoid hah. Northeastern is my preferred school but they are both pretty close so I’m hoping to get into both of them to have the option.
