Transfer Decisions to UW

^^ Wow, that’s completely different from what they told me :frowning: this is seriously killing me

@ShrewViking, Wow, what is going on here? Is everyone at their Admissions on the same page? I thought some people said they already got theirs? Sigh, I’m not sure what to do for all my colleges because I’m not allowed to multi-deposit for the University of Miami and they said they cannot extend the deadline or anything, also the UCs are due June 1st…

@ShrewViking, that is also completely diff from what they’ve told me…:(

http://m.admit.uw.edu/Admission/Deadlines#transfer

UW notifies transfer students in the summer. You need to deposit elsewhere in the meantime. It is not double depositing. If you get into the U and decide to attend, you forfeit the other deposit.

@seattle_mom, yeah we understand that it is sent out June through July, but a few of the people in this thread contacted Admissions and they received a variety of answers, the most common was that they were sending out decisions from Mar. 31st to June-July, so we were just confused because the website says one thing, but the Admissions says another.

When we visited the school for a transfer admissions session, we were also told June/July.

When my niece applied last year, she was notified in June/July.

@kevinsauer & @marquisShowChoir - I don’t understand why other answers were given either, and it’s bad we have to wait:/ But this guy sounded sure of the information he was given, and so far no confirmed reports of a transfer receiving a reply has come out, to my knowledge. So personally, I am going to bet on June, especially since it was the most recent answer given by admissions. Maybe they were…confused. I am going to pay my nonrefundable deposit on my other school, and if I get into the UW, I guess I’ll go there instead and lose $250. Good luck to you guys.

@seattle_mom, Alright thank you for the confirmation.

@ShrewViking, Yeah, he sounded he was positive and made sure Admissions knew what he was talking about, alright so I guess I’ll be waiting… I’m just hoping all my UC decisions come in to see if the University of Washington is still my top if I get into some of the other UCs.

guys I have a question. I met with an advisor the other day and turns out she told me something wrong concerning how many prereqs I have to finish. So I had to discuss my academic plan in my essay-- will inconsistencies with what my academic plan is versus what’s on my essay affect my chances of admission a lot? Like in my essay I said I’d like to finish prereqs by Autumn 2013 but turns out it wouldn’t really be possible for me to be done until Winter 2013… also, does anyone know how many quarters you can take off from UW before you’re considered to not be a student anymore? Thanks for the help!

oh I also wanted to let everyone know, I talked to admissions and they said for summer transfers we will hear back anytime from now until early June!

@masha000, that is also what I was told by an admission advisor. There is a little confusion here. lol

@kevinsauer: My guess is that the admissions advisor screwed up and believed you were asking about summer quarter transfers. Based on what masha posted and information from earlier in the thread:

Summer quarter transfers notification period now through early June.

Autumn quarter transfers notification period June through July except in cases where the student has applied to a competitive major and a decision is made earlier by that school/department.

Does this sound about right?

@PrincipessaAnna, ah sorry I misread that.
