@seatac, may I ask when did your unofficial transcript loaded?

It was around May 9th, but it was for UWB. I got my letter on May 12th both from Bothell and Seattle.

@seatac were you for fall or summer transfer if i may ask?

Fall to Foster.

@seatac: How early on in the Dec. 15 - Feb. 15 application period did apply?

I don’t remember exactly, but I think it was close to the deadline.
If you are trying to determine when you should expect your letter then I have an opinion. I think that when you are a transfer, a lot depends on the department you are applying to. If it processes applications quickly, then you are likely to get your notification fast. Now, if you didn’t apply to a department or if your department isn’t competitive, then You should expect your notification in mid June.

Would it be acceptable to call UW and ask them to prioritize my application if I have other schools waiting for my deposit?

@seatac: So, since I didn’t apply for my major (communications) yet, then I should be expecting my letter in mid-June? Alright. Thank you!

@courts: I think that might be a bad idea because they have a lot of applicants and there is no way they would be able to fulfill that request for a large number of them. Also, I imagine that they would see it as unfair for others to be pushed back to prioritize other applicants.

@courts, I agree with shaemus.

hey everyone, is the Student No. on our unofficial transcript our actual student ID number?

I’m a transfer applicant for the Autumn of 2013 and I’ve found this thread very helpful. Thank you everyone! My question is regards to applying to competitive majors. I applied to a “minimum admissions requirement major” with the goal of switching to a competitive major in the same department after one quarter if I am accepted. Since it’s not an “open admission” major, would I still likely be waiting until June or July for my notification? The information on the department’s page says that I must be admitted to the university first before applying to the major.

Has anyone gotten anything yet? Waiting is insufferable -____-

@PrincipessaAnna, yes. And what I said above isn’t a fact – it’s just an opinion, so don’t trust it entirely. I arrived to it from a discussion in the previous year. Apparently competitive departments tip off UW admissions when they accept you. THEN UW admissions goes and reviews your application. Of course, they can always deny it even if you have been accepted into your major (for various reasons…)

However, if a competitive department denies your application, then it goes to UW admissions and they might still consider you for general admission OR your backup major (if competitive).

If you aren’t applying to a competitive department, then the only ones who will review your application is UW admissions and they will decide on it. It might take them some time though (because they are reviewing applications of those who applied to competitive departments, maybe?)

So I guess it’s rather a matter of how fast you will get your notification.

@psychguy, Oh thanks, hope they have been coming out, need to get all my decisions as soon as possible, so I can decide. I actually visited the University of Miami this weekend and it was really nice, deciding is becoming harder and harder for me!

@courts, Yeah, that definitely would be a bad idea, there’s probably a lot of people waiting on UW because of other school’s deposit deadlines like me, so asking them that would probably accomplish nothing if not make things a little worse.

@courts I’m right here with you. At least you’ve got company in your waiting? :D

@seatac, Thank you. I guess it’s just a waiting game.

The waiting game sucks. Plain and simple.

I am with you all about this waiting game…it is god awful!

agreed! i am haaaaaaaaaaaating this wait.

Okay, guys. I just called the admissions office. I asked some questions. I specifically stated I was a Fall 2013 Transfer. They said that unfortunately replies will not be going out until June, for sure. I asked in what order, and they said all at once. They say that if you have an earlier college deadline to either put in your refundable deposit to hold your spot or call the school and try to work something out, explaining that the UW replies don’t come out until June.
