<p>Hey! I'm looking to transfer to NYU arts & sciences for Psychology... I went to art school for one semester and had a horrible GPA of 2.2 (only 3 classes- 9 units taken) and transferred to a JC near me. My GPA is now 3.7 and I'm working really hard with community service and improv classes outside of school... By the time I apply to transfer I will have around 52 credits from the JC and only 9 non-transferable credits from the Art School.</p>

<p>So question. Will the semester of Art School hurt me big time?</p>

<p>Do your best. What do you have to lose by applying? Time and a few bucks? If you did well in your psych and related classes in JC, you will have a good chance. Admissions may see that art school wasn’t for you and personally wanted a change to something you’re more interested in such as psychology.</p>
