Transfer--Fall 2009

Any prospective transfers for fall 2009 out there? I haven't seen much talk about fall transfer on this forum yet but my decision is already on the way! Hoping some of you are in the same predicament. Please share your stats and any updates you might've received!

As for me:
GPA: 3.72
Credits: 45
ACT: 31
I'm a female student at an in-state community college enrolled in my second semester of study.
I have average extracurriculars, some notable work experience, solid high school stats (I was waitlisted when I applied senior year), and I provided a recommendation from an alum.

I'm hoping for a deferral.

GPA: 3.9
Credits: (including spring semester) 38
SAT: 1940

MSU Honors College. IM soccer is my only EC. Really good essays. Decent high school stats.

Submitted my application mid november, they received all my stuff mid January.

No decision yet.

Good luck C :)

I hate to say it, but those very high gpas would more than likely be much lower at Michigan. I read that there are only a few hundred undergrads with a gpa of over 3.8 on the entire campus! So please keep that in mind if you do not gain entrance. Also the university is much more likely to admit you after your sophomore year is completed. I have heard this from admission counselors on campus. Either way, best of luck to both of you.

Well, UM accepts 40%? of transfer students regardless of how rigorous UM is.

We know that UM is hard and that gpa's aren't as high as ours, so you UM kids should stop bringing it up.

GPA: 4.0
Credits: 17, will have 36 at end of Spring Semester
ACT: 34
SAT: 2240

Honors College at my present University, Club Hockey, Biochem Club, good essays, 97% avg High School (Canada).

All materials received in mid-January; no decision yet.

Rjkofnovi: Yes, I am aware that a high GPA is difficult to maintain at UMich, and unfortunately GPA from my community college won't transfer. Just more motivation to work hard :) And I am concerned about not having enough transferable credits, but more importantly that I don't have more records of my college grades. I'm hoping my credentials and some new information will be enough for an appeal if necessary, though.
