Is anyone applying for fall transfer? This could be the official thread. The deadline is a couple of days away and we could share stories while we are waiting.

I’m applying for fall transfer!
I visited over winter break and fell in love…I’m finishing up my essays now

I’m in the same boat. I want to sent in my app by monday. I’m still tweaking my short responses.

I’m applying for sophmore transfer? Any one else?

heyy im also a sophomore transfer (as in ill be a sophomore in fall 2010 if thats what you mean) Im anxiously waiting the results as well. Where do you guys go to school now?

duquesne university

i go to mount holyoke

I go to Claremont McKenna

I hate that there isn’t a solid notification date, you could find out April 15, May 8 or anywhere in between.

@katlyn4318 Sorry this is completely off topic but what about Mount Holyoke made you want to transfer? I’m currently a junior in HS and I kind of want to apply there, but I’m not sure yet.

hey

so after coming to mt holyoke I realize that it just really isn’t the best place for me. I’m a city girl at heart (born and bred in NYC) and I wanted to come to MHC to see what a real college experience would be like. Little did I know that MHC is far from a real college experience: its in the middle of nowhere and its all women. Also, I feel that often there is not enough support/encouragement for my goals: I want to work in financial law one day and most women here are looking to become teachers or do some type of non-profit work, which is fine but that’s not what I want to do. Hope that helps! Feel free to PM message me if you’d like some more insight!

Just curious, katlyn, why do you believe that Barnard will be much more different than MHC (except that is in the city), or you just want to explore.

My younger D is applying to transfer to Barnard. She is a Macaulay student @ Brooklyn College. She has received her transfer acceptances to Mt. Holyoke and Smith so far, and is also waiting for Amherst, Boston College, and Brown.

My vote, though, is Barnard (not that it is my decision )

good luck to her!!

just submitted my app! hopefully all of us will be getting good news soon :-D

Does anyone know when we should be expected a letter back from the admissions office? like if they have a date where they mail out notifications?

I applied as a sophomore transfer for the fall! Crossing my fingers because Barnard is my dream school…

I transferred last fall, and got my letter at the end of April, though I can’t say it’ll be the same this year. They stagger mailing out the results (waiting to see how many acceptees actually enroll and whatnot), so if you don’t get yours as soon as other people do, don’t freak out just yet.

What’s the financial aid like for Barnard transfers?

Also, has any one gotten an ID for checking their application yet?

liaku, for us hopeful transfers, could you tell us what your experience at Barnard as a transfer has been like thus far?

I have not received my ID yet for checking application status.
