Transfer Fall 2010

ps- one of my friends was, unfortunately rejected today. So the first batch is varied. :(

Great stats! Goodluck with additional letters and final transcript sending and stuff! Also, that’s unfortunate :frowning: rejected from where? Do you go to school together?

Thanks! My HS math and science grades were iffy so i worked REALLY hard to boost them up in college. I’m sure my final transcript will be fine…Im just waiting to hear from the rest of my schools so I can make a calculated decision as opposed to being forced into something just because the deadline was looming. (skidmore is expecting a decision from me may 20th)

we do go to school together- she was rejected from Vassar (as was I) and from Barnard too. Sad. :(

Was everybody who heard so far from the NYC area?

Ah that’s sad… At least you get the privilege to play the waitlist game. I really hope you can get out of it. Where do you go to school again? Also bff, I’m from NYC and I haven’t heard back yet. No news from you?

Im from NYC also, Bff, and I DID hear. so i don’t think its by region.

I go to Hunter College in manhattan, its part of the CUNY University system. I’m ashamed to even say it haha.

Nah don’t be ashamed. If you had less than a 3.5 in the cuny system I would be concerned lol but I’m in the cuny system too and i haven’t gotten rejected anywhere yet:)

Another weekend about to pass… Still keeping my head up and trying to be optimistic

pauladanielle- what cuny are u from? where else are you applying?

thewoman- there is a good chance that you’ll be accepted next week, but we’ve heard from acceptees, rejectees, and waitlistees on this forum, so it will be mixed up.

I really hope that the people for whom barnard isnt their first choice will pass on their acceptance and give me a shot!

I’m from Brooklyn College. I also have the advantage of being a Macaulay Honors Scholar, but it’s not all it’s cracked up to be so obviously I’m transferring hahaa I’m applying to Barnard, Boston College, Brown, Amherst, Smith (accepted) and Mount Holyoke (accepted) still waiting!

Hey Paula,

Im actually a student at Mt. Holyoke right now so if you have any questions, please feel free to ask =)

after getting on the waitlist for barnard, i dont know why but I just cant be optimistic about getting off it. I mean, how many people are going to turn down Barnard? Probably not many…sigh. I really wanted to go.

I would be optimistic. Barnard, for some, is a safety school- if you can believe it. Others may not have gotten the financial package they want. You never know. I would call on monday, see if they can give you insight into what you were lacking in your app, and then write a letter to the Dean expressing your devotion to the school.

transfer91- have you been accepted anywhere else? where else are you applying?

pauladanielle- that’s a nice list! What’s your major again?

bwaybabe79, our stats are pretty similar! crossing my fingers that both of us can get off the waitlist!

Barnard was the only school I applied for transfer admission to.

transfer91- Im so sorry. originally, that was my plan, as Barnard is my first choice as well, but I realized I hate my current school so much that I needed a backup plan. In your case, i would DEFINITELY recommend not giving up. :(

^thanks for the support. i hope all of us get off the waitlist. you ladies all seem really cool…
what school do you go to now??

I go to Hunter College in NYC. It’s part of CUNY…its like a state school. Purely for financial reasons, but im so freakin’ miserable.

aww its ok alot of my good friends in nyc go to Hunter actually. Well, I hope you get in to Barnard =)

what other schools have you applied to?

haha so do I, so do I. I hope we all get in.

I’ve applied to Skidmore (accepted) Vassar(rejected) Brown, Swarthmore and Wesleyan (still waiting to hear)
