For the people who applied to the college of engineering – I just contacted academic advisor of engineering department to ask when the decision will be made for the transfers who applied for the fall 2012 term, and she said they will start sending out decisions on the week of May 3rd… and all the decisions will be made by May 31st.
Sadly, It’s going to be a long wait…

I wouldn’t really rely too much on the advisors (dumb advice huh?). No but seriously. I called them with the same question concerning admissions decisions and they told me about 4 weeks after the deadline which for CLAS is March 1st. I applied January 25th and received an acceptance a few days ago.
Just keep checking your online status and stay hopeful! :)

@Daisi what is CALS
Someone i know is applying to go into biology and he said he’s going to get his answer around March 10. It really annoying that they’re not giving a set date. And I applied in November and it was referred to the college almost a month ago and I still don’t have an answer.
To whomever contacted the College of Engineering, what exactly did you say to the admissions people. I hope to call them too to see if calling them up really does speed up the process like I’ve heard before.

Hello, ToreyPhilemon. Good to see someone who applied to the College of Engineering.
I applied to the College of Engineering as well and my major is Electrical. As you can see on my comment up there, I have contacted the academic advisor and she said the admissions will be sending out the decisions on the week of May 3rd.

Decisions in the College of Engineering are very much department driven so it is completely possible for students to get answers at different times ie - when their department decides it is ready to make decisions.

I know of someone else that applied for Summer B and he got his answer the same night that on time freshman admissions did. You should try talking to the admissions department.

@ToreyPhilemon- I plan on calling on March 2nd the latest. I emailed UF and they told me (the generic answer) there are no set dates for informing applicants about their acceptance/denial. I also read somewhere that it’s more common to receive notification after the deadline has passed (The deadline to apply for summer B is March 1st)

@gatorordie - I applied for CLAS. I heard CLAS is harder to get into, but I am hoping it depends on what major you’re going for, within CLAS.
praying everyday >_<

I wonder if they ever update the admission status during the weekends or if it’s only during the weekdays. I’ve been checking my admissions status all weekend :/

I have been trying to look for a number for the engineering college admissions and yet to find one.
I’m also scared that I will be one of the last ones to know because I am taking 20 credits this semester and they want to see if I can handle them.

I was wondering the same thing, PrettyPeridot. I was looking through previous threads to see if decisions come out on weekends. I didn’t find much, but I’m pretty sure they don’t
I applied summer A and still haven’t received my decision. It was sent to my college for a “final decision” about three weeks ago, but this wait is killing me! I was hoping since CLAS is rolling admissions it would be a little faster, but I guess not.

I talked to the lady from the college of engineering who makes the final decisions and she said that they aren’t even looking at applications until after March 1st. And then there is another 6-8 week period before you find out. If you don’t get a decision in 6-8 weeks then you should get worried. Looks like we’ll find out mid april to end of april for engineering kids. Also, I asked how competitive it was and she said some kids had a 4.0 gpa. If there is limited seating, then the students with those 4.0 gpas will get in first.
