@EileenM you have your AA already? Im assuming thats why you got a decision so soon, Im still waiting :(

Eileen what was their reason for rejecting you?

@EileenM any word on CLAS transfers? I really don’t want to wait out the month of April and May for a decision. -__- I applied as a History major and still no word. Weird thing is, TWO days after receiving my transcripts, application and fee, UF wrote back and said that my app had been sent to CLAS and is awaiting final decision. I wish this second leg was as speedy as the first.

I went to UF this weekend and stayed at the estates with some friends. I mostly went to compare the estates vs campus lodge. I’d be paying 524 a month at the estates because they only have 4/4 deluxes left and the only difference I noticed was a dining table. At the lodge, you pay 460 a month and everything is bigger.

Pros about The Estates: 24 hr supermarket right next to it and 10 minute jog to the SW gym

Pro about Lodge: I’d save 60 bucks a month, queen beds, and the bus route starts there.

I’d spend all my time at engineering area, which happens to be more the east/center part of the school, so both housing options are almost equidistant from there

I do not know why they rejected me…They said official details have been mailed to my house… So we shall see…

I am also waiting to hear from CALS. Applied 12/27/11 for fall 2012. Submitted one college transcript electronically, before I could get the other one and the HS transcript in, UF had pulled them on their own (didn’t know they did that?). By mid-January it said my application had been referred to the college for a final decision. Assume that means I passed some kind of preliminary hurdle (?). Just before the March 1 deadline for apps, it showed they had received the transcripts by February 26 and 27 - they got them much earlier than that, not sure if they pulled them again or what. During mid-March I got notification that I had a small gap of time unaccounted for on my app, so I filled that in immediately and the next day GatorLink showed all time was accounted for again. I was told via e-mail that the CALS goal was to have decisions out by July 15 (!), which is a full month later than they had last year. Really late for people to possibly have to relocate, find a place to live, etc. They did say we might hear something a “bit” sooner than that, though. I am encouraged that a few people have reported hearing back from them already, and if they are really letting us know this week, that would be wonderful!

EileenM, what was your intended major? I suspect that some programs are responding sooner than others will and for a lot of us it could still be drawn out quite a bit longer. Hope that’s not the case, though.

I have just earned my AA degree, but have graduation is May 5 and the degree award won’t reflect on my transcript until May 18. Taking one more course this summer to wrap up the required critical tracking courses required for the transfer. I had been out of college for a decade and went back a couple of years ago. Have done very well since then, but have some old stuff from way back when that is dragging my overall numbers down. Hopefully more emphasis will be placed on the last 45 credit hours and the critical tracking courses (can’t dip lower than a 3.53 on those no matter what happens this summer).

How many other people check this thread and their application status nearly every 60 minutes? I have about 80 views on the application status webpage, this wait really blows.

@watwat I’m so with you on that one! What college are you applying to?

CLAS for the political science major, supposedly everything is supposed to be done this week, but looking through the past threads the transfer decisions have gone well into the next month :/

Isn’t CLAS rolling? Im sure you will hear soon enough. Good luck though!

I think it is, just rolling extremely slowly and the staff have set a goal to get them all answered by… Good luck to you too :)

@juan have you applied to any of those yet?
I’m not sure if I can apply without having an acceptance letter.

Incase anyone is wondering, I called today and they changed the expected date from the end of this week to the end of this month… Love this **** :D

@watwat is that for all colleges or just CLAS?

I’d like to know if that was for CLAS or CALS too. The reason I was so interested in what EileenM said was that, unless she made a typo, she said she had already heard something back from CALS, which had I expected to take much longer than CLAS to get back to people. I have applied to a CALS program, and if they take as long as I was told (as late as July 15!), that makes it mighty difficult to get everything lined up by the start of classes, and lots of people will have a jump on us. Especially for transfer students not coming right out of high school who may be married, etc. like I am. Makes it more complicated and the earlier the better!

@heraclid I applied to CALS as well and am very anxious about the wait. I do not understand why CALS is one of the last to notify people when they are such a small college! It’s very frustrating, however I am waiting until the end of spring semester to resend my transcripts because I will have completed all of my pre reqs by then. I really hope this will speed up the process for me. It’s driving me crazy!

So i called the college of engineering today and they told me they will start making decisions by may 1st. According to the lady i spoke with, they are not reviewing summer b applications yet. Every time i call they give me a different day. :s first they told me after the deadline which was march 1st, then march 30th and now may 1st!!! Great!!

I spoke to a CLAS representative, sorry I didn’t specify

@watwat

is that for all CLAS majors or just the major you applied for?

She made it sound like all
