accepted!! can’t wait to meet all of you in the fall!

@leilagirl ahhhh i applied but i still haven’t gotten any email rejecting/accepting me! I’M SO nervous, and I know there is that confusion of when people will be finding out this week, even though somewhere on this thread it was posted people could find out as late as Thursday. In any case, I’ll just sit tight. Congratulations to everyone that has gotten in!!!

Does anyone mind sharing the message of their email? My friend got the email, but has refused to look at it for the past two hours. I’m trying to convince her that it might be good news.

"Congratulations! On behalf of the Committee on Admissions, I am pleased to inform you that you have been admitted to Barnard College to begin your studies in September 2014. The Committee has selected you from an exceptional group of applicants and is confident of your future success as a member of the Barnard community.

Since its founding in 1889, Barnard has welcomed thousands of transfer students from other colleges and universities. Each fall approximately 80 new transfer students bring a diverse range of interests and experiences to the Barnard community. Ellen V. Futter, former president of Barnard College and currently the President of the American Museum of Natural History, was herself a transfer student to Barnard. She often commented that Barnard gave her the two ingredients that are necessary for success: confidence and opportunity. Barnard continues to do the same for the many transfer students who enroll each year. We know that your years with us will be special and rewarding."

And then it goes on about enrolling and making a deposit @Angelofmiracles

@andys15 Thanks!! From what we can see in the preview of her letter, it starts off as “The Committee on Admissions has met to consider…” So I am guessing it is not good news? :/

@Angelofmiracles ahh boo Well I hope you guys are wrong and that everything works out!

@Angelofmiracles sorry, but that’s how mine started and I was rejected… maybe the waitlisted option also starts that way??

Is anyone worried about not being guaranteed housing?

@GalPacino Yes! Living off campus for the first year would make the transition so much harder. Plus more expensive!

hello! (or should I say, hullohullo! haha)
anyways, I was waitlisted but couldn’t be more excited and honored!!!

When I began to read the email my heart sank, but I began dancing as soon as I read the waitlist bit!

I applied to Barnard with a 3.3 GPA, which definitely made Barnard a reach for me. My GPA was so low because I experienced a lot of health issues and difficult family matters during my first college semester, which developed into a rocky, scholastic start to college.

The most telling parts of my application are the parts I also believe to be my strongest; they were my essays, my letters of rec, and my portfolio (photography website), and my extracurriculars.

I’m crossing my fingers and toes to get off the waitlist, but congratulations to all of you accept-ees!

admitted! but I’m very confused about the credit evaluations…anyone else have any insight?

Hi everyone. I hope you don’t mind be posting on here, but I’m looking to possibly transfer to Barnard next year as it’s my first choice. I realize that Barnard is need aware and my EFC is quite low. I was wondering if any of you with low EFCs were accepted, as I feel that it might significantly hinder my chances of being accepted.
