Girl Scout since 2001: Gold Award Project: Created “Stickers for Hope,” a sustainable volunteer project to collect sticker books and other activity books for children with childhood illnesses that have undergone surgery at the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital. Conducted workshops for younger Girls Scouts, including Brownies and Daisies, to raise money to purchase coloring books, sticker books, and toys. Baked desserts and had bake sales at my local train station to raise money to purchase sticker activities for the children. Organized and held a “Sticker Race” in my local elementary school to collect sticker books and other donations. Coordinated by the volunteer coordinator at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, the Mayor of my town, Girl Scout Service Unit Leader, Girl Scout Leaders, and the PTA Volunteer Committee, the Elementary and High School Principals and other community leaders in order to put Stickers for Hope into Action. Recruited other organizations, including the Delta Academy, to adopt the “Stickers for Hope” Project in their communities. Recruited schools in the Netherlands and the United Arab Emirates to successfully participate in the Stickers for Hope program.
