I would not lose hope just yet. They do accept applications until July, so I myself am confused about this May 1 deadline. Also, when I was searching old threads, many applicants didn’t hear back until mid May in previous years. I want to enroll, but I have not received my credit evaluation, so I am not willing to put my money down without it…
I just called Syracuse. They do not adhere to the “May 1st” deadline. Students can be notified up till June. So if this is your 1st choice school, you’ll have to decide if you are willing to loose any deposits you put down elsewhere incase Syracuse comes through with an acceptance letter.
Good luck to everyone still waiting (we are).
I applied to the iSchool, or school of information studies. I am very borderline of getting in, so we’ll just have to see. I have my fingers crossed that we’ll all here back soon!
Also, I am in the same boat with that! I had to send a deposit to my second choice as well due to pressing deadlines. Kind of stinks, but you have to make some sacrifices!
Hi guys! Sorry it took me so long to reply, but it took about a week and a half for me to get my decision and I applied to the college of arts and sciences!
Anyone hear back yet?
Nope
There is hope. My son applied as a transfer to SU on February 2nd. He was offered admission to Newhouse for the fall yesterday. Good luck to all of you.
Thanks for the update. Congrats to your son.
Congrats @gmziegle1 ! Newhouse is not easy to be accepted into.
Thank you both. He’s so excited and so are we. I think it likely you folks will be hearing soon. But man, it takes such a long time.
Have you guys still not heard anything yet? I still have yet to at least. Sorry to bug everyone, i’m just getting antsy!
My D has had correspondence with the transfer admissions team. They are waiting for Spring grades. At least it was some contact. Still hopeful
Oh okay great, that is actually very good to know. Thank you!
NP coolbean22. let’s hope this week is the week everyone waiting hears good news!
I actually, to my surprise, heard back from Syracuse today. I was not accepted to the school of information, but I got accepted into the school of arts and science! While it wasn’t my first school, I am still very exstatic and will be attending in the Fall of 2016!
Congrats! I was at the school today and checked out where the transfer students live. Not the nicest place… I did, however, talk to a student who was outside Sky Hall (where transfers live) who said they’re splitting everyone up next year, but the housing department said that was false. They also told me they are no longer accepting housing for transfer students… Not sure if this is correct…
Really? Not accepting housing for transfer students at this point? I’d find that hard to believe due to how late I was notified… I’ll look into it and see what I can find
Perhaps she meant people who haven’t applied to the school at all yet? It wouldn’t be fair to those who applied months ago and simply didn’t hear back until recently…
