Sorry but i personally don’t think you both will hear today. I actually saw my response yesterday at around 6pm by randomly checking even though i checked that morning and had no response I highly doubt they want your new transcripts though for the past spring semester until after your decision. If it makes you feel better, I can not sign up for classes anyway until mid august during phase 2 sign ups so you would have an equal opportunity. The only issue is probably the dorming situation which you may have troubles but it does not seem like they are packed yet

Admitted to Computer Science!! My average GPA is 3.84, but I got an 3.3 on a java programming class. I am coming from Edmonds Community College.

Oh well. Not looking good for today. No Georgia Tech for me. My lease is up at my place in Auburn and I’ve gotta sign a new one. So even if I got accepted in June, I’m still going to stick with Auburn. I got a research assistant position here too and I was going to regret leaving it anyway. Best of luck everyone.

Great Wendi!

sorry to hear that @jnolen2 Auburn is still a great school!

congrats @WendiT!! see you in the fall semester!

Well even if they wanted my updated transcript it would have not made a difference since my gpa is pretty much the same. I guess I will have to wait till June to find out but I just hate the suspense. I won’t have a problem about dorming because I am just looking for an apartment nearby and if I can’t find one, I can still commute from my house. Also, congrats WendiT.

Hi everyone
For anyone apply for engineering program. Did you guys take linear algebra? How important the linear algebra is?

Hey @audiadam. The calculus I took 1 and 2 were both accreted for but, from my understanding, they did not include the linear algebra portion which they did not. Because of this, I know and probably most of us transfers will have to sign up for a separate linear algebra class in the fall semester if there is room available or we wouldn’t fulfill out calc 1 and 2 requirement yet.

@mak1994
Will it influence the admission? I finished the calc 1,2,3 but the calc 2 will not be completely transfer as calc into gatech. Have you finished linear algebra component?

No, I will also have to take a separate linear algebra course at Ga tech as most of the transfers will have too to so it will most likely not influence the decision. As a computer science major, i believe I may have to retake calc 3 (which was insane for me), since there calc 3 is called calc 3 for computer science majors. not sure yet though

@mak1994 - I’m pretty sure you will have to retake the Calc 3 for CS majors. DS knows students at GT that started out in engineering and took the regular Calc 3 at GT then had to go back and take the Calc 3 for CS majors…I don’t know if there is anyway around it.

Which one you guys used?

@audiadam to send your final transcripts? same place as the first one, Uncle Heinie Way. All info could be found in this book thats on buzz port too: <a href=“Blow the Whistle!
I’m applying to transfer from Southern Polytechnic State University for electrical engineering for 2014 fall semester.
I took
C++ for engineers, English I, Calculus II, Physics I for 2013 fall and
Linear Algebra, English II, Calculus III, Physics II for 2014 spring, making a total of 30 in-class credit hours.
I got A on everything except for Physics II, so my cumulative GPA is 3.90.
Do you guys think that I will be accepted or not? I’m a citizen and a GA resident (in-state) btw.
And if it says “File Under Review” on buzzport, does that mean they received all required documents, and do I just wait until June 15th for the final decision?

@guanyu542
Did you take Chemistry class and finish it with both lecture and lab. This is required.

@audiadam
Well… I received Chem credit from AP.
It says that the Chem class should be CHEM 1211K or 1212K
But I have both 1211K and 1212K credit accepted by my institution, which are also
accepted equally in GA Tech, according to the transfer equivalency thing on buzzport and GA Tech website.

Same here, I got 5 on AP Chem, and I was awarded both 1211K and 1212K. Funny that Georgia Tech only award 4 credit hours for the freshmen who got 5 on AP Chemistry.

I got accepted with 4.0 GPA. 23 credit hours from AP courses, and 34 credit hours from my college.

Let me know if you have any question. I’ll be happy to answer if I can.

@daivinhtran1993
Do you think I have high chance of getting in? 30 in-class credit hours
3.90 gpa, not sure if c++ is considered to be science as it is computer ‘sci.’
If c++ is science, math/sci gpa would be 3.875 otherwise 3.850.
(Electrical Engineering major)

@guanyu542 - I think you have a have a high chance. The neighbor boy down the street just got accepted as a transfer with a 3.9 in EE. He’s transferring from UGA.
