This may be a dumb question but I'll ask anyway. Can I transfer directly into another school to pursue a second major?

Example: I'm currently finishing a business/finance degree at one school but would also like to major in mathematics. My current school doesn't have a very strong mathematics program so I would like to know if I could transfer to a different school (with a reputable math program) once I finish my business major at my current school? Or do I have to apply as a freshman and not a transfer student?

you need to apply as a “freshman” many schools actually have the option to declare that you are seeking a second degree but not a first time freshman. it def. is not a transfer though, because when you transfer you move your credits from one institution to another. You just want to get another degree. Also, some schools frown upon people seeking another undergrad degree if it is very similar to the first one…
