Transfer from A&M to UT

I am currently at Texas A&M and just not happy with it here. Everyone is the same person, and I will admit that I am a white conservative christian as well, but I like to be around other people besides people like me. The other thing is that everyone here just seems to hate UT more than they like A&M. Lastly, I just am not proud of going here, its a good school, but it isn't for me.

Do you guys think that I could get in? I plan on applying to Engineering
I didn't apply out of high school

high school gpa: 4.01 (out of 4, ap classes were out of 5)
class rank: 50/280
Act: 33 (33 English, 34 Math, 32 Reading, 32 Science)
College gpa: probably going to be around 3.45-3.6 this semester

Current classes: honors calc 1, gen chem and lab, computer science, poly sci (15 hours)
I have 12 4.0gpa hours from Dual credit

so I guess that would put my transfer GPA at a 3.7-38

Thanks!

I’ve seen that over and over by many aggies including the guy I worked closely with. He likes a&m but he hates Texas more.

Good luck with your transfer. I think you have a good chance.

^Yep! I observed the same thing among the Aggies AND their offspring. Very annoying!

MC2411-Make sure you achieve a good grade on your Calc 1 class this semester. If you are taking Calc 2 and Physics next semester, having good grades on those classes will also help with your chance.

Best of luck! You will like UT so much better!

Alright thanks for the insight! I understand rivalries because I grew up a michigan fan and I am not fond of ohio state, but I do not want them to fail in everything and base everything off of hating them.
I like positivity. Thanks again!

UT transfer admission wont take into account high school credentials. Make sure you get as high of gpa as possible. The difficulty totally depends on the specific college you’re applying to, but engineering is one of the most difficult.

I’m sure there are a lot of Longhorns who despise Aggies as well. Heck, you guys pretty much sound like that as well. Both are great schools, no need to knock one or the other. The sports rivalries are almost infantile.

True rivalry means a constructive competition, not hatress.
Wish longhorns and aggies encourage each other to be great schools in nation.

^I agree it probably goes both ways. In my experience I’ve only been around the one way as stated. And it is very blatant. I have not experienced it from the other side yet. For the record I’m not from either school.

FYI, I went to UT’s graduate school and my D applied to UT (as an auto-admit) although she may go to a private school.
