Hey everyone!

I am currently a junior in San Jose, CA, and I graduated high school a year early, so I'm planning to attend De Anza Community College for the next 2 years (get my AA degree) and then transfer to UC Berkeley. During the previous years, I heard that De Anza had some kind of transfer agreement with Berkeley, and I was expecting to make use of that when I transfer. Well, today I decided to once again read through De Anza's agreements and found that Berkeley is no where to be listed in the list of colleges!!! I was deeply surprised, and I even tried searching the agreement on google, but there is no information on the agreement being cancelled or anything...am I looking for it in the wrong place, or something else happened?

If anyone knows anything, please help out!! I'm so horrified :O If there's not agreement, there's no guarantee Berkeley will accept me, and transferring is going to be so much harder!!! ((((

Thank you!

UC Berkeley and UCLA do not have TAG agreements with any Community College.

These are the only Universities with agreements: [University of California - Transfer Admission Guarantee](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/transfer/guarantee/index.html)

Berkeley does not offer guaranteed admission. But there are some transfer programs you can participate that will increase your chance of admission. Transfer Alliance Project and Club Cal target low-income and/or minority students; Starting Point Mentoring Program is open to everyone.

UCLA has a TAP (not TAG) agreement with some community colleges which is priority admissions (gives you a bunch of extra points on your admissions “score”) rather than guaranteed admissions.

Berk might have something similar. Check with your honors programs.

^^Berkeley does not have anything similar.

Hello. I just finished De Anza and I’m about to go to Berkeley in the fall.

Berkeley does have TAP, but it’s different from UCLA’s. Berkeley’s TAP requires you to be academically disadvantaged in some way, I believe (low income, URM, etc). I personally did not qualify for TAP, so I didn’t really look into it, but there’s a counselor you can talk to from Berkeley who comes to De Anza sometimes. She can walk you through the process if you do qualify, and even if you don’t, she can still help you in other ways: I showed her my extra circulars, my ideas for my prompts, and my transcripts. She gave me good advice. I’d recommend seeing her when she comes to De Anza next.

^Which it looks like someone may be there in 4 days from now:
