I've heard it's pretty much impossible to transfer from state university to state university.

I've earned 57 credits at FSU so far, but my GPA is only a 3.4 (upward trend; 3.8 last 2 consecutive semesters). I'd like to get into the Construction program, I don't know if that's competitive or not.

I've found alot of info on CC -> UF transfers but can't find much for university to university transfers. I guess to even qualify I'd have to earn some more credits here, and even then with that GPA I guess it's not really a possibility? By the end of this semester I'll have over 60 credits and will have met all the liberal studies requirements, so I guess I could apply for an AA certificate from FSU.

I’m not sure what college construction is out of, but that would pretty much determine if you have any chance. The business college basically doesn’t accept transfers, the engineering college does, for example. Still, with the way things stack up for you, I think it would be a pretty low chance you’d get in, just because of budget difficulties.

I transferred to UF from FSU 3 semesters ago (started Summer A 2009). Transfers are specific to each college as your transfer application goes straight to the dept/program your applying to and they look at.

I mean me and about 3 others transferred from FSU that I know, but we had like 3.7’s and up as science majors (Biology), I know at least for CLAS they are strict with university transfers and accepted like …10% last year? I wrote an awesome essay and listed a lot of E.C.s which probably helped a lot, apply you never know, if you want to know what I went through just check my old threads I talked a lot about the transferring from FSU to UF process.

Are you sure about wanting to get into the building construction business in today’s economy? According to the attached newspaper article (toward end of the article) UF’s construction school is barely filling its construction classes now. Maybe phone the construction school and ask what the prospects of being accepted as a transfer are–I’d bet the odds are good because not as many students are applying. You might be a lot better off staying put at FSU.
