Hi. i was just wondering if it's easy to change schools within cornell? Like from CALs to engineering? or arts and sciences.

Engineering is tough since it has a very structured first year and you fall behind if you are not on the track to begin with. Though I’ve seen physics majors from CAS transfer into engineering since they are kind of similar.

I’ve never really seen people transfer into arts though and I’m in CAS. Could just be my crowd but most inter college transfers are within the contract colleges like ILR->CALS or CALS->Humec or something like that. At any rate you need to be doing well in school and/or be an athlete for a switch to any of the more competitive majors like econ/AEM.

Oh. So we can transfer but just hard to transfer? How hard is it to transfer to CAS?

You can transfer. My D knows several people that transferred without a problem from other schools at Cornell to CAS.

Oh okay :)
