Studying Engineering at Purdue, but want to transfer to colleges like UPenn, Cornell, UIUC, etc
Didn’t have the GPA system in my high school.
SAT: 2000
First semester GPA: 4.0
Any recommendations? Can you chance me?
Purdue is a very strong engineering school, you will need to have a compelling reason for wanting to transfer. You will also need to see if your financial needs can be met with whatever transfer scholarships you might obtain. Also, since you are a Freshman, your high school academic record will certainly be considered as part of the decision on your application whether or not there is a GPA for it.
You certainly have a chance at those schools but you will just have to apply to see if you get in.
I’m also in FYE at Purdue, I took 6 courses this semester and ended up with a 3.93, a lot of people around have 4.0s this semester since most people only had to take 4 courses. I think 2000 SAT is way too low for you to transfer into the schools you’ve listed. (Girl across my hall had a 2290). Maybe wait a bit, your 4.0 right now doesn’t make you a special cookie.
