I'm currently a Freshman at San Diego State University with a 3.8 GPA and was wondering how hard it would be to transfer to UCLA. I have decided that I want to major in Arabic, which is not an option for a major at SDSU.

It was my understanding that transferring from a state school to a UC is pretty hard but since not too many people major in Arabic I thought it might be possible. Just wondering what other people think.

I am a first year at SDSU and am in a very similar situation as you are. I am an engineer here and want to go to UCLA. I expect about a 3.7 after this year is over and will be going to a comunity college to help increas my chances. From what I have gatherd UCLA generally does not like to take students who are already in universities. This is why I am pulling myself out now so they will not be the ones doing it. Secondly by being at a cc for a year I can apply as a community college transfer rather from sdsu. The fact they do not offer it will help you, but I can not say if it is enough. Make the choice you want, this is just how I am going about the situation.
