I am currently a freshman at Tufts looking to transfer to NYU. I did not have a very successful first semester but I am having a much better second semester academically. Will coming from a school like Tufts have any influence in the admissions process? Or will they simply look at my grades and application? Since many would consider Tufts admissions more selective and/or challenging, I am hoping they will think along the lines of well since he got into Tufts maybe he should get in here. Any feedback would be appriciated. Thanks.

They’ll probably check Tufts’ academic rigor as opposed to selective admissions. If Tufts has selective admissions and you got in, it just shows them you had a good app for Tufts as a senior in high school. If Tufts is hard, particularly in your field, odds are they’ll consider it. Need more data though.
