Transfer from UCB to UCI asap?

Hello, I just transferred to Cal this semester and after much thought it seems I would have been better off at UCI. I was also accepted to UCI for fall 2008.

Anyone know if it's possible for me to transfer to UCI for winter quarter or would I have to apply again?

Thanks

I'm don't think that it's possible to transfer once you have completed a semester of upper division work. You should contact admissions for UCI for a definite answer to this particular question. (Unless UCDavisAdmissions is in the house).

I think CalBear is right.

Just wondering, why are you leaving Berkeley? Is it true that getting good grades are more difficult?

Look, I'm not trying to judge you and admittedly have no idea why you want to/need to transfer.

I will say though, that I am 28 and an AF veteran and trust me, when I first joined at 19 I would have jumped over the fence and went AWOL a countless number of times just to get the hell out of there. But as luck would have it, I wasn't retarded enough to do that and I stuck with it and things improved. After that initial adjusting phase, I found the AF to be the best experience of my life and I credit it entirely with teaching me the skills and discipline I needed to get into Cal.

Maybe your situation isn't like mine was back in 2000/2001 at all. I doubt that it could be worse though as you're not forced to walk through landmine strewn battlefields in Kuwait, or the drama, people, and b.s. you have to face ona day to day basis in the military or anything. Other vets here know what I'm talking about.

So I'm assuming you're young, and at that point everything seems like a catastrophe and needs to be done ASAP!!!11!! but you will be a better person if you stick with it and finish what you started, no matter what it is in life.

Again, sorry if something really bad happened to you like an assault or some such, which would make my post way out of line. But if you're just homesick or w/e you should just suck it up and press on. I only go out of my way to say this to you because I wish someone had been there to say it to me during some rough times.

Good luck to you.

Wow edward that story touched me :)....
Yeah dude listen to the AF vet!!!!
