Transfer from Wofford College

I am currently a freshman Physics major at Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC. I am looking to apply to Clemson's Engineering Program. Fall semester grades came back as a 3.7 (Physics A, Calculus B, English A-, Spanish A). What are my chances?

Your GPA is very good. You should have a great shot!

Pierre, thanks for the quick reply. I also wanted to see if you knew whether I would be looked at now if I submitted my transcripts or would they wait for the Spring '12 grades too? How about high school performance? Will it matter?

I guess it depends what will help you out the most. If you think your Spring 2012 grades will help your case, wait for those grades to come out? Since you’re just a freshman your high school grades will probably factor in.

I was hoping high school grades wouldn’t count. I was under the impression that if a transfer has two full semesters completed then high school performance would be disregarded.

If you’re transferring before finishing your 1-2 years of college, high school grades will be looked at. Obviously your college grades will count for a lot more but they’ll still take a look at your HS grades.
