Transfer GPA

Hi there!

I'm currently in my second semester at a community college (Athens Technical College). I found this route to be best for my financial situation. Since my admittance here, I planned on transferring to a university (University of Georgia). That's where my questions arises. When I look on the university's admission website, a requirement is listed for a transfer GPA. Does this 'transfer GPA' consist of every course I take here at my community college (ex. core classes and courses specific to the degree program I'm in that don't transfer), or does it only reflect the grades I received in courses that transfer to the university (ex. core classes)?

Thank you in advance for your help!

The latter. Transfer credits can be tricky but generally they will count anything thats academic in nature including core classes and degree specific classes.

They may limit credits for things like phys ed and music instruction.

They typically dont take anything that isnt academic. For example, a cc course on handgun safety.

If you want a better answer contact UofG and ask for an transfer evaluation for your current transcript.
