I am in the process of applying to both Barnard and Columbia for transfer from an Ivy League School in the fall....what are the advantages and disadvantages of going to Columbia over Barnard and Barnard over Columbia?

good luck transfering from an ivy league to an ivy league. almost impossible.

that doesn't really answer my question....anyone please?...and btw is barnard considered an ivy league?

Barnard's admissions is completely separate from Columbia's, so you wouldn't be applying to an ivy if you applied to Barnard.

To posit that Barnard is not an ivy league school is not entirely correct. While Barnard College is not an exclusive member of the eight-team league, its students are eligible for participation on all female varsity athletic teams through the Columbia-Barnard Athletic Consortium. Thus, Barnard participates in the Ivy League. Similarly, as an affiliate institution of Columbia University, its students receive Columbia degrees.
