Transfer into Wharton as Undergrad?

I applied Penn for the college of arts and sciences and no Wharton because my GC told me Wharton is way too hard to get into. Does this mean if I get into Penn ( BIG maybe??) and enroll, I can transfer into Wharton after a couple of months? Is this possible or are Penn's separate colleges hard to change.

You need about a 3.8 gpa your first two semesters (the cutoff keeps rising every year) to transfer after freshman year. They do it just by GPA, starting at the top until the slots are filled. You can transfer later as well, and I believe the GPA requirements become slightly less stringent.

I know a close friend who did that: he was accepted SEAS freshman year and transferred wharton sophomore year. his gpa was 3.88 (i think the requirment is about 3.80?) and he seems to be really happy with his decision.

It’s possibly to transfer after 2 semesters, 3 semesters, or 4 semesters. But it’s not as easy as you might think, because a 3.7 or 3.8 from Penn is no joke.

^ You need to be doing pretty well in CAS to even stand a chance at transferring.

WoW!! 3.8 is VERY high!!! Does applying Wharton for undergrad lower your chance than SEAS? Can I change my app now?

You can only apply to one college. Either you apply to Wharton or SEAS or CAS. People who apply to Wharton has been planning and thinking about it for a long time, it is not something they do at the last minute. If you don’t have top scores in everything, your chances at Wharton will be slim to none, thus no chance at attending Penn at all.

Your right! ^ My friend who got into Wharton ED this year told me that its harder than Havard!! ( correct me if im wrong?)

^ you’re friend is sort of wrong. . .from what I’ve seen both schools have comparable scores and about 9% acceptance rates, so Wharton isn’t harder to get into than harvard but it is equally hard. (this is just from personal research)
