Transfer Major Change to Economics

I’m a transfer student to UCSB currently majoring in communications. I have recently decided that I want to change majors to economics but understand this to be a pretty grueling major at UCSB. I’m willing to put in the work, but I would have to start from scratch essentially.

What I’m wondering is how hamstrung I would be starting Math 34A (calc for social science majors) having never taken pre-calc. I also want to know how much PSTAT-109 (statistics for economics) rests on introductory statistics. Any advice would be appreciated.

Use Assist and the UCSB Tag framework as your guide. Follow the directions, earn the threshold GPA, and you are in.

your post is not clear. Are you currently a UCSB student that wants to change majors? Or are you at a CC and have decided you want to apply for Econ instead of Comm?
