Transfer Notification

Any transfer students received a decision yet?

Apparently its rolling after April 1st.

Although when I called I was told I'd be finding out in late March...

Still waiting!

We’re still waiting too…did they say immediately after April 1st? Hope so…

I don’t know!

I’m trying to find a thread about transfers last year… and see when they found out

good luck!

Bummmppppp

Any transfers to Fordham receive an answer yet? Thank you.

I still haven’t heard anything and I got my application in early February  I hope transfers hear back this week!

Still no word, so I called and they said it would be the middle of May before we hear anything…arrrggghhh. I will have to send in a deposit by May 1st to my D’s other school that she has been accepted to and would like to attend as well. Now if she gets into Fordham and chooses that school over the other I will lose my deposit.

Its because they dont know about needed dorm space yet. Incoming freshmen applications were up 14% to 27,000. They don’t know if they will lose kids to transfer yet from the present freshman class, and its always in flux until approx first week of may when the picture clears up a bit. Its the nature of transfer applications. If Fordham offers housing, its always guaranteed for four years. Some schools only guarantee on campus housing for one year, then go to a lottery for later years.

Its frustrating, but its the nature of the beast. As for lost deposits, yes, that is also part of the process when you apply to several schools. Can’t be helped. Not every school has the same transfer notice date and deadline to accept/reject their offer.

I presume musicalmom is looking at LC and that is another factor, with extremely tight housing and a highly competitive theatre program at Fordham.

You just have to try and be patient. It is what it is.

Just wanted to let everyone know that my D got her packet at the school she attends now. She got in! Lincoln Center campus. Now has big decisions to make. Good Luck! and check your mailbox.

Awesome. I can’t wait to hear from Fordham regarding my transfer application. Did the acceptance packet come with a financial aid award/estimate?

Congrats musicalthetremom! Will your D be a Theatre major or minor? My S will be a Freshman Theatre major in the fall!

I got in. Fordham College at Rose Hill.
Haha, cool

I just got an email from my specific academic advisor letting me know i was accepted. I am curious to know whether a financial aid award letter is sent out in the packet but i guess i’ll find out in a couple days when my letter comes in the mail.

I still have not received anything from Fordham, either by email or mail. Anyone else in the same boat? I’m from California so perhaps it is taking longer to mail.

Still haven’t heard either. My application was finished a month ago and Fordham website states that a transfer decision will be mailed after 2 weeks upon completion of application. Hope it comes soon. Congrats to everyone who got in!

Dude, I applied MONTHS ago and haven’t received anything from them. I called to make sure my application was complete. This is getting annoying.

First, please try and relax. Everyone knows its stressful. Fordham had a record number of applications this year (27,000) and they are still determining the space available for incoming freshmen in the dorms, the wait list people (if any are taken at all) and so forth. Transfer applications are considered on a rolling basis. It may take some time. But you will hear something, either yes or no, in due course.

Imagine the frenzy in the admissions department with people calling about scholarships, financial aid, accepted student questions, wait list people, housing issues, who was offered housing (which is guaranteed for four years if offered) and so forth. And frankly they need to know if some of the existing freshmen are transfering out and making space available, or if they have academic issues and are asked to leave, or financial problems and are forced to leave etc. Its a very complex situation.

Please be patient.

27000? that’s a lot. Does that mean Fordham will be raising their admission standards?

Well my spot is open lol… eh oh well we all have to make decisions we might end up regretting lol. If Fordham had an online way of submitting the SIR I probably would have attended lol. When I was in my pro-new york mood. Guess it wasn’t meant to be lol, or if that had bother to fly me over like cal did. Have fun at fordham when you get in lol! Or get there everybody.

Has anyone heard anything from admissions yet? I’m afraid I might just have to give up on Fordham since I already paid deposit for Binghamton University. I guess I’ll only give up the deposit of I get into NYU. Congrats to everyone who got in!!
