Hey guys. I’m currently enrolled in Community College and have around 35 credits under my belt. I’m currently working on my Associates of Science and plan on transferring to UNCW for my Bachelors of IT (BSIT). What I’m asking is, should I continue on with CC or go ahead and transfer now? A few of the reasons I could advocate transferring is so I could secure my position with 100% assurance that I’m working towards my degree. Currently I’m just hoping my associates will count. In terms of a petty reason as to why I’d want to transfer, I think it would be good for me to to out on my own. My cousin with similar issues moved out to university recently and told me it is one of the best decisions they made and that they’re having a blast, it has me interested. Only reason I’m hesitant about it is because I pretty much have no money saved up. I’m currently saving up for a car so no money can go towards university yet, I’d have to take out student loans as well as apply for scholarships. What do you think?
Go see the transfer advisor at your CC. That person’s whole job is to help students coordinate their transfer plans.
