Transfer options

Hello, this is my first post and I'll try to keep things short and sweet. I just began attending a California community college in August. A few months have passed and I find transfer deadlines are approaching and my semester grades relatively secure/known. I would really appreciate any tips to bolster my application via extra curricular's before applications are due (late February mid March) as well as any reach schools that you think I have a shot of getting into. This year i'm looking to apply to targets/reaches and if those don't work out I plan to apply to transfer to a UC (a safe bet from California community college) next fall, Thanks in advance! stats are below

Highschool GPA UW: 2.79
SAT scores (1 sitting)
CR-800
Math-720
Writing-690
Composite-2210
AP Econ macro- 5
AP Econ micro- 5
AP Stats- 4
AP physics- 3

Community College
GPA: 4.0 (I havent completed my semester yet but I would have to seriously bomb my finals to have anythings else...knock on wood)

Courses completed:
Chemistry 1A w/ Lab -5 units
French 1- 5 units
Pre calculus- 5 units (took calculus in high school and got a B but community college would not accept it as equivalent )
Total completed at time of application: 14

Courses that will be in progress:
Calculus 1- 5 Units
English 1A - 4 Units
Chemistry 1B w/ lab- 5 units
introduction to Geology- 3 units
total: 17 units

EC's:
Solid Rec letter(s) Chem and French professors have agreed to write them
3 Years model UN in high school
Founded Young Democrats chapter in high school... could hurt me with some schools ;)
60 hours community service volunteering at a hospital
living on my own in California (don't know if that matters)
EMT certified
Teach volunteer sailing lessons
read and write arabic
ethnicity- white

edit** pre calc is 4 units… sorry!

Most likely (as in 99%) the schools you’ll be targeting won’t evaluate your ECs in terms of accepting you. Focus on your grades. Make an appt w/your CC’s transfer counselor to walk through upcoming milestones and 4y college suggestions and how to get into them. Hint: ECs won’t enter into the discussion.

Thanks! because I’m in a California community college counselors heavily advocate CA schools and thats about it… do you have any suggestions for OOS reach schools? thanks again

All of them would be reach schools at this point. Your HS record will be considered until you apply next year. How much can your family afford?

Don’t you have to be a rising junior to transfer to a UC from a CC? Will you be a rising junior? How many credits will you have?

One semester of A’s from a CC will not likely overcome your HS GPA.

Between the AP credit and three semesters (next fall) I’ll be able to transfer with junior standing to a UC, and my parents put no restrictions on where I go financially… They just want me to make the best decision for my education

Also if I were to apply to schools this year and not get in would it affect my chances of gaining admission next year? Thanks again, just trying to navigate this process as best I can!
